The Helford Estuary is about 5 miles south of Falmouth and the village of Helford is the most northern part of the Lizard Peninsula. The village is a really picturesque, Cornish village and relatively unspoilt. There’s a pub, local post office and village stores, sailing club and a carpark. Enjoy a pint overlooking the estuary and watch the tides turn - keep your eyes open looking out from the pub on a flooding tide and you may see the Kingfisher fly upstream to his perch. You could even take the passenger ferry to Helford Passage. Although we prefer the quieter and slower pace of Helford village and stay this side of the river!
