Although Ilfracombe is a tourist town we’d recommend you walk to the harbour. Here you will see “Verity”. Verity is a stainless steel and bronze statue created by Damien Hirst. She stands 20.25 metres high and can’t be missed. This sculpture really is a marmite sculpture, some people are horrified by her and absolutely hate the sculpture. Others, like me, find it quite intriguing. I guess the only way you will know is to see her for yourself. Damien Hirst, who lives locally, has loaned her to the town.
