The start of your adventure and journey for the South West Coast 700 route is in Minehead. Although the coast path walking route is 630 miles long by road it is just over 700 miles. There is an official walking route marker on the sea front just before the harbour on Quay Street if you want a photo.The South West Coast Path National marker was erected in 2001, partly funded by the South West Coast Path Association. The South West Coast Path is the UK's longest long-distance countryside walking trail, it runs along the South West Coast from Minehead to Poole in Dorset (Studland).Our SWC700 route follows most of the coastline and you will have the opportunity to walk stretches of the path too. Along the way a lot of the roads you’ll be driving on will provide you with stunning coastal views.
