Drive through Mullion village and head towards Mullion Cove, there is a small car park just before the harbour. Mullion Cove is owned and maintained by the National Trust and the harbour walls (piers) were originally built in the 1890s, the harbour at Mullion Cove protects a few fishing boats from strong westerly storms. In October 1984 three areas around the harbour area were granted Grade II Listed status. These are: The two harbour walls or piers The net loft, listed as a "harbour cottage" The nearby Winch House Visiting: During a calm day you can walk along the harbour walls and look out to Mullion Island, but on a wild, stormy day please do not go anywhere near the harbour wall. It may look dramatic and wild but you will regret it walking along them if you do. The last thing you want is to see your face in the national newspapers! On a serious note the sea during a storm can be so powerful it will knock you off your feet within seconds. It is best to storm watch from a safe distance and take photos, capture memories and remember the awesome power of nature.
