Paignton is one of the most vibrant “jewels in the English Riviera’s crown”, as you arrive in the resort you will see a long stretch of beautiful beachfront, promenade, traditional pier and colourful beach huts. It’s easy to see why this is such a popular destination and a traditional family destination. This sand is a reddish colour due to iron chemicals found only in deserts. However, although Paignton is built on a desert, the climate is not as hot as it was when the rocks were originally laid down. There are lots of places to eat, a zoo and a 2 mile geology trail.
