Porlock Weir is a pretty little hamlet with a small harbour. Hotels, pubs, restaurants and cafes overlook the harbour. You can spend a few hours enjoying a slower pace of life watching the world go by sipping a glass of wine or a local pint.  There's a Don’t forget to check out the Porlock Weir Boat Shed Museum, Porlock Weir is very Dog Friendly all year round. You might even be lucky and be able to buy some locally farmed oysters. Porlock is famously known for its road out of it to Lynton and Lynmouth, although it is part of the A39 it is the steepest A-road in the UK. With gradients approaching 1 in 4 in places this is not a road for caravans, campers and motorhomes! Please use the toll road instead, the toll road runs parallel to the A39 and has a much easier gradient. The views are spectacular, driving through woodland and sea views. For the £5.00 toll fee for a motorhome it’s definitely worth it. In fact whatever vehicle you are driving, take this route as it’s really pretty. Parking: There is a small car park but it's not really ideal for larger vehicles
