The Isle of Portland is a tied island, 4 miles long by 1.7 miles wide, in the English Channel. Portland is well known for its stone which has been quarried since Roman times and then shipped to London from the 14th century. Parking Parking in Masonic Car Park gives you great access to the beach, campervans and motorhomes are allowed to park during the day but no overnight sleeping.
