Visit Torquay, Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves and take a walk along Dawlish Warren beach. Torquay A traditional English seaside town set in the heart of The English Riviera. It’s a popular destination for everyone. Agatha Christie, the famous detective novelist, was born in Torquay and lived there until she married. She bought Greenway House, or Greenway as it is also known, and this was Agatha’s holiday home. The National Trust acquired Greenway in 2000 and it is open to visitors. You really don’t need to be a fan of Agatha to appreciate the beauty of this place. Greenway is approximately a 25 minute drive from Torquay. Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves One of the most important Stone Age sites in Europe. Open for guided tours. Babbacombe A quieter area near Torquay, it is fondly known as the “Jewel in the crown of the English Riviera”. Don’t forget to see the Babbacombe Model Village and to access Oddicombe Beach use the Cliff Railway. Dawlish Warren If you are into mushrooms check out the Forest Fungi and Farm Shop, there’s a visitor centre where you can see lots of mushrooms growing. Dawlish Warren is a popular family holiday destination but nice to have a walk on the beach or visit the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve Visitor Centre Parking: Dawlish Warren (Inner) Car Park, Dawlish EX7 0NF.
